At Antonia York, it is our goal to make clothing that you keep coming back to. Items so beautiful,
versatile and well constructed that you reach for them over and over again. We always say: it
doesn’t matter that your dress is made from organic cotton if you wear it once and throw it away.
The most sustainable clothes are the ones you really wear - and so our first principle is to create high-quality garments
that look great and can be worn in many different situations, dressed up or down.
At Antonia York, we have a responsibility to the planet and its inhabitants. We made a promise to ourselves, to
tirelessly work towards reducing our environmental impact and contribute to positive social change, and now we make
that promise to you.

LOCAL MANUFACTURING
Here at Antonia York, we’re passionate about keeping the skills and experience of textile production and manufacturing alive in the UK. The majority of our garments are made locally in Leicestershire, England, by small businesses and seamstresses who produce beautiful garments to the highest possible standards. As well as keeping the skills alive, manufacturing in the UK reduces our carbon footprint and ensures that all of our products are kinder to the planet.
SUSTAINABILITY
We are mindful of the impact our brand has on the planet. Apart from local manufacturing, another way in which we protect the environment is to use recycled fabrics, deadstock fabrics and low environmental impact fabrics such as viscose. Antonia York is now producing its own printed fabric which is made from recycled polyester. We recycle as much of our scrap fabric as possible, and any bits that can't be used are donated to a local quilting and craft group that uses the fabric to make products such as bags for local hospitals.
SUPPLY CHAIN TRANSPARENCY
We value transparency and are proud to share the locations where our garments are produced with our customers. Today, Antonia York garments are manufactured by small businesses in the following locations:
Leicestershire - by the Antonia York team ourselves in our design studio
Leicestershire - garment manufacturer with 4 employees
Leicestershire - a treasured friend and talented seamstress
India - a small manufacturing business, whose guiding principles are honesty, trust and commitment to their employees.
SOCIAL IMPACT
It is vitally important to us that Antonia York and our suppliers are happy places to work where people are cared for and treated with dignity and respect. We regularly visit our manufacturing partners and know their employees very well. We carefully consider the business practices and work conditions of any business that we partner with.
QUALITY
We believe in quality over quantity. Antonia York is a slow fashion brand producing limited quantities of ready-to-wear items. Our garments are produced in-house or by a select number of small manufacturers. This allows us to give time and attention to each design and every garment we sell so that we can be confident of its quality.
