Antonia York. My mission? To design clothing that gives confidence and joy to the wearer; to create
timeless, easy-to-wear pieces that are loved by women and worn time and time again.
With over three decades of experience in the fashion industry,
I've always dreamed of creating an independent fashion brand that resonates
with my values and personal style. When you are reading this, that dream has become a reality.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a passion for fabric and clothing design. I was taught dressmaking from an early age by my two maiden aunts who worked in the clothing industry and in their spare time enjoyed making clothes for all our family.
The sewing machine was always set up ready to use with different coloured thread and I would spend hours on it making clothes for my dolls.
A few years later, when I arrived at high school, my friends and I desperately wanted to look fashionable but couldn't afford clothes from the high street. Fortunately for us, fabric was cheap at the time and I was able to create entire outfits for us all.
Once people in my village discovered my sewing abilities I began taking commissions, soon I was making everything; from trouser suits to evening wear and wedding dresses.
Being in demand for something that I loved was a wonderful feeling and encouraged me to study fashion, knitwear and textile design at college.
I started my career as a knitwear designer for big high street brands and later opened my own bridalwear shop where I created couture gowns.
After years of working one-to-one with clients, I have seen how designing clothes that are both flattering and confidence enhancing gives power to women.
Today, I strive to create beautiful, flattering silhouettes for women; clothing that evokes femininity, spirit and confidence, all while keeping the environment in mind.
